Mr. Brownlow's professional journey is marked by a strong foundation in military discipline and leadership, stemming from his service in the United States Army Reserve. His tenure in the Army, including deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq, honed his skills in teamwork, values development, and tactical training. As an E-4 Specialist, Brownlow was deeply involved in training Afghan forces in searches, weapons, and tactics, and emphasized in Basic Combat Training the importance of discipline, military customs, and courtesy.
Following his distinguished military service, Brownlow has applied his discipline and leadership skills to his current role in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) at Oldcastle APG in Mundelein, Illinois. Here, he is responsible for managing the occupational health, safety, and environmental aspects of the plant facilities. His work involves close collaboration with management and employees to ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and health standards, and he plays a vital role in achieving targeted goals through effective team-based strategies.
In addition to his EHS role, Brownlow has extensive experience as a Rescue Technician with Advanced Rescue and Safety, specializing in confined space rescue services. His expertise in ropes, knots, and medical first aid is crucial for managing site safety and conducting complex rescue operations.
Educationally, Brownlow has a certification in Cardiovascular Technology from Harold Washington College, Chicago. His diverse skill set includes plasma cutting, CPR, and TIG welding. Brownlow's continuous pursuit of knowledge is also evident in his numerous certifications, including skilled welding, CPR, Confined Space Certification, and ACI Certification in Concrete Masonry Technology.
